DashPad was just updated, however it’s gotten some nasty words said about it, which is all part of the business. However one comment caught my attention. I will not say who or where it’s from, and will only give you a summary of the quote.
“How can you charge for a Web-App.”
Let me tell you this. If it was in the App Store, we’d charge $9.99. Since it’s not ALLOWED in the App Store, we are STILL charging $9.99.
Besides that, people have said, “this isn’t a real application”, says WHO? What is the definition of a real application? Does it have to run natively? I for one think that people should stop thinking natively run apps are the only apps that can be good/useful.
If you didn’t want to buy a native application for $9.99, then don’t by this web-app for $9.99.
Remember that time, before the App Store even debuted? All there was were Web-Apps. Now that developers have the App Store, they don’t need to make Web-Apps. EXCEPT for developers who can’t get there application APPROVED by Apple.
I think there needs to be a change in how we view what can and can’t be done efficiently on iPhones, iPods, and iPads.
